Eaton Corporation in Beltsville, MD has an opening for a Lead Engineer. This person will design, analyze and optimize pneumatic ducting systems and components to meet customer specifications and requirements. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

Essential Functions:
- Design, analyze and optimize pneumatic ducting systems and related components to meet customer specifications and requirements.
- Verify completed drawings, reports, ECOs and BOMs for clarity, completeness and conformity to standards, procedures and specifications. Verify accuracy of calculations, dimensioning and tolerancing.
- Responsible for complete designs from concept to qualification.
- Work with customers, suppliers, project managers and other engineering disciplines to optimize designs and identify cost trade-offs.
- Initiate and promote generation of new ideas and document it appropriately for possible future patent application and protection.
- Prepare for and participate in Preliminary Design Reviews (PDRs) and Critical Design Reviews (CDRs) to ensure product meets design criteria.
- Promote cordial relationships, foster and maintain a favorable business profile with current and prospective customers, vendors, peers and other professionals.

Basic Qualifications:
- BS in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Systems Engineering from an accredited institution required.
- Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience working on ducting systems.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience using CATIA
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:
- A thorough technical knowledge of aerospace pneumatic ducting systems and flexible joints, which includes product design, manufacturing methods (in-house and sub-contracted), qualification testing and aircraft certification.
- Proficiency CATIA V5 is preferred.
- Working knowledge of major aircraft systems: ECS, EBU and anti-icing are a plus.
- Working knowledge of Design For Six Sigma (DFSS), Six Sigma methodology, Failure - Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and tolerance allocation is preferred.
