Lead Lean Leader - 2nd Shift Job

Provide leadership in the implementation of Lean Manufacturing initiatives while leading Action Workouts to eliminate waste and promote continuous improvement in Appliance Manufacturing Operations. Internal Title: Continuous Improvement Leader, AP Dishwasher Manufacturing Essential Responsibilities - Implement GE Appliances site lean vision to optimize hours per unit, reduce inventory, lead-time, and eliminate waste. - Organize and lead lean events to focus on eliminating waste in both product and process design. This includes developing pull systems, training personnel, and other activities to achieve world-class process flow. - Execute production system through fishbone, small scale layout, and full scale mock-ups prior to purchasing equipment. - Develop value stream maps for the organization and eliminate process waste through implementation of lean techniques. - Coach and teach plant teams/direct reports in developing and executing lean plans to reduce inventory, lead-time, and waste to improve process quality. - Drive consistency and timely implementation of all Lean activities (Shingijutsu led workshops, KPO creation, etc.). - Provide training and leadership to all salaried Dishwasher Manufacturing employees to drive Lean in their roles. - Develop culture and network with other Appliance Park Lean Leaders to capture and promote lean best practices. - Facilitate day-to-day activities for KPO. - Work with team to drive improvement in safety, quality, cost and delivery targets. Qualifications/Requirements: - BS, BA, BSEE, BSME, BSIE, -Experience building, empowering and leading Lean Continuous Improvement projects and talented cross-functional teams in a Union Manufacturing environment. . - High volume manufacturing experience. - Experience with tools such as SMED, 5S's, POKA-YOKE, KAN BAN, CHAKU-CHAKU, JIT, JIDOKA, TPS and HEIJUNKA - Demonstrated ability to independently develop, manage, lead and implement aggressive project plans. - Experience applying Lean tools and processes - Proven ability to communicate complex matters in a simple, understandable format. - Ability to build and promote organizational change management initiatives valuing relationships, building idea/problem-solving culture. - Position supports 24/7 manufacturing facilities. Occasional off shift, on call and weekend work may be required. Desired Characteristics - Prior Lean experience and practice - Excellent negotiation skills - Green Belt or Black Belt Six Sigma Certification. - Proven ability to challenge the status quo and use positive influence to implement change; preferably in a high volume union manufacturing environment. - Vision and courage to pursue big ideas, encourage smart experimentation. - Strong analytical, root cause analysis and problem solving skills. - Recognized and established manufacturing shop experience preferred. - Results oriented - Exemplary energy, enthusiasm and a demonstrated ability to energize others to exceed their potential. - Self-starter - Outstanding multi level communication, presentation and leadership skills.
