Eaton Corporation in Raleigh, NC has an opening for a Systems Project Engineer. This position is responsible to execute projects identified as critical to the success of the Corporation and leads and manages a project team comprised of local and/or global resources from various functional organizations to define and meet project technical requirements, schedules, budgets and other deliverables. May provide technical input and perform some engineering functions to meet the technical objectives and requirements.

Essential functions include but are not limited to:
• Establishes, documents and gains approval of project objectives
• Identifies resources required, prepares budgets and defines schedule to achieve project objectives
• Organizes, monitors and drives team activities to deliver project objectives including, but not limited to, schedule, budget, product cost, quality and performance
• Ensures the plans of the various functional organizations meet the overall objectives and deliverables for the project
• Regularly interacts with management and stakeholders identifying issues and risks to project deliverables and defining mitigation plans for those issues and risks
• Defines and gains acceptance of project deliverables via the (PROLaunch) phase gate process
• Monitors project status and regularly communicates status and risks to key stakeholders
• Simultaneously manages multiple small projects to meet defined objectives. Must prioritize and resolve conflicts between projects
• Fosters an environment that promotes Eaton’s goals, philosophies, and encourages continuous improvement.
• Promotes and champions Eaton Business System, Eaton Lean System, and Eaton Quality System for team.
• All duties assigned by management and deemed pertinent to the continued success of Company and employee objectives and/or goals.

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelors degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 5 years work experience in product
design/development or management of new product introductions or a combination of the both.

Position Criteria:
• Technical experience in engineering and/or manufacturing
• Experience with resource planning and budget management
• Experience with Microsoft Project or an equivalent project management tool
• Ability to develop financial and resource models for projects
• Ability to identify project risk, develop risk mitigation plans and then implement plans
• Must be a self-starter that can independently drive projects forward to success
• Experience working in a cross-functional team development environment
• Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications
• Masters Degree
• Experience with global development teams preferred
• Experience with Uninterruptable Power Supplies Systems and/or power electronic products preferred
• UPS Systems or Power Systems Design experience
• PM Certification or training
