Leading Commodities Trading House seeks Analyst for Acquisitions team
Client:
Our Client is one of the largest trading houses in commodities with a particular emphasis on the trading and logistics of energy related products such as oil, oil products, coal and gas.
We are specifically working with the Corporate Finance Acquisitions Team who acquire and own assets on behalf of the companys which enables the business to increase and streamline its core asset offering to clients. The team has been running for a number of years and has been involved in buying Port Terminals, Coal Mines, OG Infrastructure and Brown Field sites. The team consists of highly skilled financing backgrounds with long experience in downstream and upstream energy sectors.
The team is now seeking a Corporate Finance Associate (2-3 years of experience) to join this very successful team as they continue to expand and invest in further asset classes
Main responsibilities:
- To support Corporate Finance Managers in investment screening and evaluation
- To be actively involved in project teams involved in full deal execution process (RFPs, due diligence, valuation, legal / transaction documentation, closing and post-deal monitoring)
- To be responsible for financial modelling / review of financial models and valuation / returns analysis
- To assist with preparation of internal and external presentations related to investment evaluation and / or deal execution processes
- To assist team in project related administrative tasks (e.g. arranging deal related meetings, preparing meeting agendas, monitoring project related costs and invoices)
This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate with a corporate finance / investment banking / private equity background to be part of a small but dynamic team involved in the execution of the Group's strategy.
Profile / Key Skills:
Ideal candidate will have around 2-3 years of experience in an investment banking / corporate finance or private equity team, with demonstrable experience of the natural resources / oil and gas sector
Financial Modeling and Valuation
- Strong financial modelling skills / strong MS Excel skills
- Solid valuation technical skill set, with a focus on cash flow modelling and analysis, including debt modelling
- Exposure to the natural resources / oil and gas sector required
Project Management / Organizational Skills
- Ability to take on a number of tasks and prioritise in order to reach best outcome
- Ability to work under pressure, to tight deadlines
- Experience of managing work streams on MA or financing (including capital markets) projects desirable
Other Skills
- Excellent capabilities in PowerPoint and other MS office applications
- Excellent oral/written communication skills
- Motivated, reliable and self-starter; team player with a positive and entrepreneurial attitude
Interview Process
Stage 1 – Phone based conversation with A few team members
Stage 2 – Case Study and separate modelling test
Stage 3 – Interviews in Geneva with Principals and HR.
