Lean Innovation Transformation Specialist Department: Lean Transformation and Innovation Schedule: Full-time Shift: Days - 8 hour shifts Hours: varied Job Details: POSITION SUMMARY The Lean Innovation and Transformation Specialist has responsibility for process management, facilitating Lean events (VSA, RIE, VVSA, 2/3P, 6S) and facilitating organizational performance improvement events. The position assists in the company's effort to implement Lean, strategically leading improvement activities via assigned Value Streams, sustaining results through employee training and involvement. Outcomes are measured and reported concurrently to the appropriate Value Stream Executive and the Manager of Lean Innovation and Transformation who reports to the director of the DOE and senior management. Leads and facilitates clinical and/or operational process improvement initiatives across the organization using clinical/process improvement methodologies, project management strategies, leadership, and change management skills to achieve outcome improvements. Collaborates with staff, leadership, and patient's in multidisciplinary teams to strategize, develop and achieve goals for improving the delivery of consistently safe, effective, efficient, patient-centered, timely and equitable care. Working knowledge of various software applications used in process mapping, process design/re-design, statistical analysis of data, data management, and presentations and MS Office Suite (Visio Excel). Must have excellent written and verbal communication, negotiation, and facilitation skills, demonstrating comfort communicating and delivering presentations to individual at all levels within the organization, including all key executives. Must be highly personable and have the ability to establish an immediate rapport with others. Must have excellent project management, advanced analytical and problem solving skills, and be highly customer and patient focused. OB QUALIFICATIONS education/training, credentials and experience 1. Bachelor's degree is required with preference given to individuals with a degree in Hospital Administration, Business Administration, Organizational Development, Industrial Engineering, Nursing or ancillary area (Medical Technologist, Pharmacist, Rad Technician). 2. 3-7 years experience working in a healthcare setting. 3. Prefer 2+ years experience in deploying Lean in Healthcare Facilities or significant experience in healthcare process improvement work. 4. Healthcare management with team leadership, preferred. SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS (Licensure, registration, etc) None required knowledge, skill and ability 1. Knowledge of Toyota Lean Production System tools and deployment experience preferred. 2. Able to drive change up and down the organization through the facilitation of cross functional teams. 3. Able to develop, document, measure, and analyze results. 4. Able to influence and motivate o thers. 5. Able to use Microsoft Office tools with moderate degree of complexity. 6. Able to be an effective team builder and have problem solving abilities. 7. Strong leadership, facilitation, interpersonal, team building, project management, written and verbal communication and conflict resolution skills. 8. Basic statistical analysis and data management skills. 9. Knowledge of Corporate Compliance regulations. 10. Ability to establish positive interdepartmental relationships with demonstrated tact in dealing with individuals at all administrative and professional levels. 11. Demonstrated skill in problem identification, evaluation, and resolution. 12. Ability to organize multiple tasks and workloads and be flexible to meet department needs. Working environment/Physical Activities 1. Must be able to stand for long periods of time. 2. Requires full range of body motion including manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. 3. Must be able to squat and stoop for long periods of time to access files and cabinets from chest height to floor level. 4. Must be able to move between offices and multiple campus sites 5. Able to grasp and lift files weighing up to 2# and push supply cart weighing up to 10# through department and hospital. 6. Requires normal visual acuity and hearing. 7. Sits for long periods of time and must be able to answer phones, greet public. 8. Must be able to do data entry for prolonged periods of time. 9. Ability to write, dictate or otherwise communicate. 10. Ability to hear normal level conversations and to recall and record information. 11. Must be able to travel between office and all facilities.
