Job Description
- The individual will be responsible for underwriting, credit structuring and credit monitoring of new and existing facilities originated by the Global Corporate Aircraft Finance International Asset Finance business in the Asia-Pacific region.
- Timely preparation of credit submissions, annual reviews, portfolio management responsibilities including preparation of annual reviews, and proactive monitoring and servicing a portfolio of accounts on a frequent basis including covenant compliance.
- You will be responsible for the evaluation, review and written analysis of all factors that affect an entity’s ability to repay and/or service their obligations on time.
- You will use your skill set to assess the appropriateness of existing solutions and to propose optimal financing alternatives or additional financing solutions.
- You will be involved in managing asset quality and the approval process through their interaction with Risk Management Officers, Marketing Officers and senior Credit Managers globally.
The Successful Applicant
- Undergraduate or post graduate degree in accounting or finance
- Minimum of 5 years experience in the banking and/or leasing industry in a credit underwriting/structuring role within a corporate aircraft and middle to large ticket Asset Financing environment (eg secured lending of marine assets, construction mining equipment etc) in the Asia Pacific region with exposure to high net worth individuals and both public and private corporations.
- Knowledge of the corporate aircraft and middle to large ticket Asset Finance financing marketplace from a credit underwriting and monitoring perspective in the Asia Pacific region with extensive experience in the credit analysis and credit structuring of complex leasing and secured loan transactions.
- Sound credit and risk analysis skills to evaluate high net worth individuals, private companies and large corporations; with demonstrated ability to form an independent credit opinion and recommendation.
- Ideally understanding of IFRS and US GAAP; familiarity with loan leasing documentation standards, e.g., APLMA.
- Knowledge of financing tax structures and jurisdictional issues for aircraft financing in Asia Pacific.
- General awareness of corporate banking loan products and derivatives.
- Ability to identify trends and emerging risks in underwriting and client selection; problem recognition and risk mitigation.
- Clear and articulate oral and written communication skills in English, with close attention to detail and robust time management skills.
- Competency in EXCEL spreadsheets, Word and Power Point
- Hong Kong work location with ability to travel as required.
