Legal Counsel – Global Asset Management recruitment

Description:
As part of the Global Asset Management (GAM) Legal Counsel Team, you will collaborate closely with the team to manage all fund registration, asset management and distribution related legal work.
Key tasks and responsibilities include:
- Drafting and reviewing fund distribution agreement, fund management agreement, fund offering documentation
- Instructing external legal advisers and providing general legal advice related to the business primarily in
- Global Asset Management business activities
- Ensure adequate legal servicing in matters relating to fund set-up support, fund registration and company law
- Be the contact person for all parties, i.e. clients, regulators and other external and internal correspondents, relating to funds legal matters and general legal issues
- Providing investment and trading related legal work
- Negotiation of both general commercial agreements as well as client documentation
- Implementing global UBS policies, procedures and practices
- Legal input in relation to Corporate Governance i.e. Board Meetings, Regulatory Filing etc.
Our ideal candidate should have the following requisites:
- Qualified lawyer with at least 8 years PQE, ideally gained in the fund industry
- Ability to provide practical solutions to the business
- Ability to work on their own initiative and work under pressure
- Comfortable interacting with senior level, results-driven managers
- Fluency in English is a must
- Ability to converse in Mandarin is highly desirable
- Have an analytical approach and the ability to provide practical solutions;
- Have the ability to communicate at all levels throughout the Company
- Able to demonstrate clear evidence of being a team player;
- In-house experience preferred.
