A position has arisen in Zurich for an experienced person as Legal Counsel
The main focus of your role will be:
o Act as the relationship manager / point of entry for legal matters arising in business region Central Eastern Europe and Turkey and APAC within Wealth Management Global Emerging Markets (GEM); possibility to become a member of the respective business MC
o Provide legal advice on market specific product and service offerings, including the design and implementation of business models and related processes and documentation
o Provide legal advice on tailor-made client related transactions
o Assess and actively monitor the legal and regulatory framework for international ('cross-border') Wealth Management activities with focus on aforementioned markets in close cooperation with the UBS tax department and the affected business units]
o Establish and maintain UBS policies and other UBS internal rules and guidance regarding cross-border business activities for the aforementioned assigned markets.
o Support the business transformation and the implementation of compliant business models and processes
o Design and provide content for training modules (web-based and classroom) and present classroom trainings for client facing staff
o Legal support of UBS Representative and Advisory Offices, including work on related projects and education of local staff
o In addition, the role will involve assignments to special tasks and projects within Legal Global Established Markets / Emerging Markets and offers the possibility to develop into other markets and disciplines over time.
The ideal candidate disposes of the following skill set:
o Swiss or European degree in law and admittance to the bar; additional relevant education (e.g. LL.M.) is an asset
o Several years of practical experience in international or Swiss private banking or in an international law firm focusing on banking topics, particularly wealth management
o Interest in complex, international legal and regulatory issues
o Strong communication skills and ability to reconcile divergent positions
o Ability to manage multiple internal and external interfaces
o Ability to efficiently cooperate with and manage external legal counsels
o Interest in conducting education for front staff
o Fluent in English (additional languages such as German are an additional asset)
