The Glasgow Finance Division helps senior management and its individual business units manage the firm’s risk by implementing financial controls over our business activities. The division is crucial to safeguarding the firm’s franchise, reporting on current performance, and evaluating business opportunities.
The Role:
• Responsible for coordinating with the Legal Entity/Regulatory Risk teams to reconcile Reg W and Y-10 reporting population in the Merchant Banking Analytics (“MBA”) database
• Review the internal Quantrix model to keep consistency with the guidelines stipulated by the Fed
• Prepare the monthly/quarterly process with the stakeholders to ensure MBA data fields are updated, reviewed and signed off for the firm’s attestation process with the Fed
• Run the internal Quantrix model to scope the qualified FR Y-11 and FR 2314 legal entities population and review any overrides to ensure results correlate to the correct Fed forms
• Prepare analytics to explain variances between filing periods
• Assist in the Legal Entity Framework project for the nonconsolidated entities to ensure current system requirements meet the firm’s needs and to ensure data flow is integrated between the firm’s systems
• Periodically reconcile and validate all the data fields being used for FR Y-11 and FR 2314 Fed reporting amongst all the systems where the source files are being pulled
• Participate in IT development and testing for future enhancements for all the Fed reporting systems (MBA, Quantrix, Clarity and FinArch)
• Assist in the review of the trial balances and templates received from the various global controller teams to ensure consistency in account treatment on the Fed forms
• Assist in uploading Fed form templates and clearing edit/validation checks in the Firm’s Fed reporting system
• Liaise with the key stakeholders and data providers to plan quarterly/annual variance explanations for internal control and signoff purposes
Skills Required
Qualified ACCA/CIMA/CA accountant
• Experience in financial reporting
• Proficient in US GAAP
• Mastery of all the MS Office tools with strong technical skills in Excel, PowerPoint and Visio
• Exposure to database management
• Excellent interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
• Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills with a sense of creative and flexible approach to problem solving
Skills Desired
• Private equity or real estate background
• Knowledge of Clarity and FinArch
