Legal Entity Controller

Full Job Description

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- To ensure that there are procedures and controls in place for all activities sufficient that at all times that legal entity books and records are maintained in accordance with financial accounting reporting requirements:
Financial Reporting
- To ensure that all statutory financial statements are prepared and submitted within required timetables and in accordance with legal and accounting standards and industry best practice
- To manage and deliver the legal entity external audit requirements acting as the primary liaison with external auditors
Tax Reporting
- To manage and deliver corporation tax and VAT compliance for all legal entities acting as the primary liaison with any external tax consultants

MONTHLY REPORT RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for monthly corporation tax accruals and reconciliations across all legal entities
- Responsible for monthly intercompany reconciliation and review across all legal entities
- Responsible for the preparation of VAT reporting and submissions as well as maintenance of partial exemption methodology
- Preparation of a monthly consolidated balance sheet reporting pack inclusive of balance sheet commentary
- Preparation of monthly balance sheet control pack by legal entity including coordination of monthly balance sheet reconciliations across all legal entities

SPECIFIC CONTROL RESPONSIBILITIES
- To maintain and man

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Qualified Accountant with statutory accounting and tax reporting background
SKILLS

- Strong IFRS financial accounting background
- Previous experience in statutory reporting and financial statement preparation
- Previous experience of corporation tax compliance ideally both UK US
- Previous experience of VAT reporting under the partial exemption method
- Some understanding of regulatory reporting requirements for UK US regulated broker dealers
- Strong team player who is able to win the support of colleagues and peers
- Ability to work to tight deadlines prioritise tasks
- Proactive in management of balance sheet control and follow up of outstanding tasks
- Good communication skills in dealing with external auditors and consultants
