Leverage Finance Credit Risk Controller

Key Responsibilities

• Undertake high quality credit analysis which assesses all the risks (financial, commercial, legal, tax, environmental structuring) in a leveraged transaction.

• Show the ability to work independently through the extensive Due Diligence process (DD), identifying key external and internal business drivers (KPI’s), specific risk issues, reviewing DD scope question lists, attending management and sponsor presentations and highlighting any information gaps to the business teams.

• Demonstrate full understanding of financial modelling, working on the production of Base and Downside cases ensuring that they reflect all KPI’s and key DD findings.

• Produce a credit memo with recommendations for CRC Senior Management and present the transaction to them at a briefing call.

• Attend Credit Committee and provide a summary of the risks of the transaction.

• Exercise delegated authority under the CRC framework for new transactions and portfolio counterparties.

• Review loan documentation to ensure that it corresponds with internal approvals and adequately covers all transaction risks.

• Work closely with the relevant business units and risk control areas to ensure provision of timely feedback, help resolve issues and instil a holistic risk culture.

• Work on a variety of traded products and ensure that the ISDAs are properly structured and in line with policy.

• Take responsibility for a portfolio of LVF counterparties, reviewing financial information, covenant compliance and updating Watch List accounts. Ensure that all excesses are reviewed and that limits, static data, ratings and LGD’s are correct along with annual reviews being produced in a timely manner.

• Work on the production of a quarterly review of the EMEA LVF CRC Portfolio for presentation to EMEA CRO.

• Contribute to various CRC and business committees

• Proactive approach to sector research being the main lead in the team for multiple sectors. Maintain good leveraged capital markets knowledge.

• Be fully compliant at all times with UBS IB CRC policies, processes and approval authorities.

• Provide support and guidance to junior members of the team.
