We are looking for an Associate Director to join our team Corporate Banking in Birmingham.
In this role you will focus on leveraged finance and you will be working on transactions between £30m - £300m across corporate clients with t/o above £25m.
You will support the existing director in their client facing role spanning the Midlands region which encapsulates East Midlands, East Anglia, South West and The Midlands.

As an Associate Director your skills and qualifications will ideally include:
- Proven track record of working in a major retail bank within leveraged finance area or a qualified accountant with a Transaction Services background
- Experience of analysing complex financial information and identifying/ structuring appropriate solutions
- Experience of financial modelling and knowledge on debt-structuring
- Very good cash flows analysis skills, structure debt and have the ability to forge new relationships
- Proven risk assessment, monitoring, and control skills in broad range of customer situations resulting in deal completions
- Knowledge of credit processes and policies and strong credit experience
- In depth and demonstrable knowledge of all aspects of the deal process
- Well versed in financial modelling techniques and knowledge of the legal process
- Strong interpersonal presentation and networking skills
As an Associate Director your main responsibilities will involve:
- To proactively assist in the creation and maintenance of a pre-eminent position in the provision of financing solutions to the UK mid-market financial sponsors community.
- Assist in formulating structural solutions to funding requirements supported by a strong knowledge of transaction pricing and product capability to reflect the associated risk profile
- To proactively support a deal team that delivers transactions of a complex nature, with shared responsibility for deal delivery.
- To assist managing the relationships with Private Equity houses and key financial introducers locally
- To assist in the origination of new deals, customers whilst maintaining high levels of credit quality.
- Contribute fully to the maintenance of the quality and performance of the CSF asset portfolio through high quality deal management in line with CS policies and procedures
- Assist in identifying all product opportunities within transactions and work effectively with relevant product partners to ensure that in all cases Santander share of wallet and RAROE/ IoRWA are maximised and RWA is optimised
- Assist in analysing and managing the banks transaction risk and communicate effectively with equity houses/ intermediaries from initial pitch to deal execution and delivery
- Proactively assist with the production of high quality cases, capital commitments and credit committee submissions that are recognised as presenting a comprehensive and balanced assessment of the risk profile of transactions and as such enhance the CSF license to operate
- Actively participate in presentations to various credit committees.
