Linux Sys Admin Financial Tech Startup

Linux Sys Admin Financial Tech Startup – Linux, Scripting, Automation, Kernel, NoSQL

Quant Capital is urgently looking for 2 Linux Systems Administrators to join our high profile client.

Our client is a brand new investment firm driven by technology. They are well known in the media as solving one of the common problems for the retail investor and in the current climate this is a unique product. The company structure is very flat and they have grown to 30 people in almost 6 months. As their product is web based these positions are a key hire.

They are funded by several major banks.

I am looking for a Linux Sys Admin who has started a successful track-record building and running a multi-site, internet-facing service. They have a complex architecture and very high security requirements, so prior experience of this kind of environment is ideal but not required l. I expect someone who keeps on top of the latest technologies (especially DevOps tools and methodologies) and who is prepared to take on the responsibility of keeping services running at all times.

We are looking for someone with strengths either close to the application layer or someone who is more hardware and network focussed. You will be responsible for a number of activities across the stack but can expect to see:

• The provision and management of business-critical Linux computing systems including storage, compute and network components across multiple sites
• In-house infrastructure development and operation in Linux
• Continuous security review and infrastructure hardening
• Build and release infrastructure automation
• Virtualisation and VM management
• Network administration
• Planning and engineering multi-site fail-over solutions

Candidates MUST have: (the below also gives you an idea of stack)
• At least 3 years’ professional system administration experience in a Linux/Unix environment supporting business-critical systems
• Linux administration, especially Ubuntu or Debian
• Ideally NOSQL database management, especially Redis
• Ideally Build/deployment technologies, such as Maven, CMake and Rake
• RDBMS administration, especially MySQL and including SQL and data replication management
• Network experience
• Dynamic programming languages or scripting
• An appetite for delivering solutions to complex problem

This role suits a mid level linux candidate not in the banking sector looking for a move. You must be hands on and have excellent experience in the stack but not always in time served. You will also be a techie motivated by technology. In return you will be rewarded seriously financially.

The environment is that of Facebook or Google, relaxed open with time to think and make the right decisions. The atmosphere is calm and relaxed with an open dress code. This is a role for techies, those who are motivated by the sharp end of technology and the possibility of making serious money doing something you are passionate about.
My client is based in London

If this sounds of interest then please apply directly.
