Leading London-based trading software house has an outstanding opportunity for a Senior Java Developer / Architect to join the team.
A well-known securities trading house. They have a top prop platform based on core Java and a low latency Linux stack. The business is growing significantly and this role fits into the high tech division. You will be looking at increasing market execution on a platform that needs to be scaled as well as increasing the effectiveness of the application layer for trade processing.
This is an opportunity for someone that wants to work with a smart people in a collaborative environment that is solely focused on serious returns. As you can imagine the stack is a mix of technologies mainly opensource due to the constantly changing needs and the continues need for improvement.
The Java Developer will have responsibility for the design, development and management of the trading system implementations, including design of s specific requirements. The successful candidate must work well independently and in small groups, have some knowledge or interest in Messaging or financial markets. Innovative thinkers are encouraged to apply.
This role runs the development of this platform and is integral to the business. The role is standalone so you will also be responsible for development work to build out the platform for future trading and brokerage projects the company undertakes as it expands, such as enhancing the existing systems horizontal and vertical scalability, and enabling direct integration with our clients’ existing systems and user base.
Candidates MUST have:
• 5+ years experience working in the area of product and application development using Java.
• Knowledge of financial instruments and mathematics.
• Linux
• Core Java
• Messaging ideally FIX or Swift
• Those who have played with Scala or Functional programming would be beneficial
• We are looking for technologists not coders
