This Linux Systems Administrator, Servers and Storage (Linux servers, SAN, Storage Are Networks, Modern Virtualisation, VMWare) post is part of the Servers and Storage group within IT Services who are responsible for design and delivery of the College's core infrastructure platforms including server hosting, storage systems, virtualisation technologies and associated business continuity systems. This is a challenging position for an experienced, motivated system administrator.
We are after a strong Linux Systems Administrator, Servers and Storage (Linux servers, SAN, Storage Are Networks, Modern Virtualisation, VMWare) with extensive experience of administering a medium sized Red Hat Enterprise Linux and CentOS server environments. The candidate should have experience of Storage Area Networks, Backup and DR mechanisms or Modern Virtualisation (KVM, Xen or VMware) technologies.
The salary is within the range, £33,794 - £39,786, inclusive of London Allowance, depending on qualifications and experience. Benefits include 30 days annual leave, defined benefit pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan.
IT Services is currently consolidating its disparate technologies, services and teams of IT staff across the college into a more efficient central IT provision. The College has committed to considerable investment in IT and as part of this an internal restructure will be happening within the next 18 months that this post will be subject to.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
