We are looking to hire a Product Control professional at the senior associate/ junior AVP level to cover the production of daily PL, attribution analysis and commentary production across the European Liquid Flow Interest Rate Derivatives and CPM Business Units.
The Interest Rate desk covers all European Sovereign debt markets, European Corporate activity and also has a large derivative component, while CPM is charged with managing the firms EU counter party exposure.
This is a key role as these Business Units form an integral part of Morgan Stanley's EU Fixed Income trading division. Upcoming challenges faced by the Business include industry wide changes such as increased electronic trading and the requirement to increase centrally cleared positions.
This candidate will be responsible for PL validation and attribution, control of the reporting process and PL and market commentary. This is a good role for a proactive thinker as we look to develop our analysis and explanation of the PL and streamline our responses to internal clients. The candidate should be a strong communicator as they will be required to work with multiple departments including VRG, Projects, Strats and the business unit. As the successful candidate you will also have to work closely with the recently deployed function in Mumbai.
Skills Required
We are looking for a qualified accountant (ACA / CIMA or equivalent), with a strong maths background and an interest and aptitude for derivative products. Other requirements include:-
•Highly committed and self motivated
•High regard for attention to detail and accuracy
•Must be confident and have strong communication skills.
Skills Desired
•Knowledge of Fixed Income Products, specifically Rates would be an advantage.
•Knowledge/Awareness of Counter party Credit Risk ideal.
•It is imperative that close control of the PL reported by the Business Units is maintained given the inherent risks of the business. Risk awareness and the ability to challenge items that seem irregular are an essential part of the role.
•Providing timely, accurate and professional responses in a deadline driven role is one of the main focuses of the group.
•Good verbal and written skills are required. The ability to work in a team environment is essential.
•Pro-active in solving ad hoc requests/issues from business units.
