Listed and Structured Product Manager

Count Financial limited is an accounting based financial planning licensee. It provides the full range of licensee services to approximately 240 member firms. The services are tailored specifically to the needs of accountants.

These services include management of an Approved Product List, delivered by the Research, Product and Platforms Team, designed to provide our member with the highest quality investment and insurance solutions for their clients.

The Listed and Structured Product Manager is responsible for the maintenance and development of Count's listed securities, gearing and structured products business.

Inherent to this role is the provision of quality on-going support to Count's member firms; independently owned financial advisory practices. The Listed and Structured Product Manager will be responsible for the success of Count's listed securities and structured product business in terms of revenue growth and meeting the needs of our members and their clients. This success requires an emphasis on strong risk management practices.

Work of the Role

Core Tasks:

Maintenance and development of listed securities research, portfolio construction guidelines, model portfolios, advice implementation, Licensee Standards, adviser and client value propositions.

• Implementing corporate action and model portfolio change procedures.

• Product Manager and Subject Matter Expert (SME) for direct equities, listed income/hybrid securities, Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs), capital protected, structured and geared products.

• Research Analyst for ETFs, capital protected, structured and geared products.

• Project management of new research and product initiatives where required.

• High level adviser support and engagement.

• Training financial advisers and other staff members.

• Market reporting.

• Management of research, trading platform and product provider relationships.

• Monitoring developments in the financial services industry in relation to listed securities and developing responses.

• Being an advocate of Count at all times.

Skills and Knowledge Required

• At least five years post qualification business experience.

• The successful applicant will have tertiary qualifications in a business or finance-related discipline. Post-graduate qualifications in a business or finance-related discipline would also be preferred.

• Minimum RG146 required.

• Given the Research, Product and Platforms Team deals directly with members, the desired personal attributes of the appointee include strong customer service, interpersonal, communication and influencing skills.

• The appointee must also have well developed investment market knowledge. These skills may have been gained in a funds management, stockbroking or financial advisory businesses.

• Strong research, project management, analytical and problem solving skills.

• Strong knowledge of the retail financial advisory and regulatory environment is highly desirable.
