Litigation Senior Lawyer

Job Purpose:

To provide legal advice and support to Citi businesses and management throughout the Europe, Middle East Africa ("EMEA") region in connection with a broad range of contentious issues and disputes. The matters advised upon will be of varying significance and complexity and will include civil/commercial litigation as well as contentious financial regulatory issues.

Working as part of a team, the workload will be extremely varied and could relate to any business area or product and/or to any one or more of the 54 countries in which Citi does business in the EMEA region.

Job Background/context:

Reporting to the EMEA Head of Litigation and based at Citi's Canary Wharf offices in London, the successful candidate will form part of a busy and highly effective team of six lawyers (plus legal and administrative support staff) who sit within the EMEA General Counsel`s Office ("GCO") and who provide support and advice across the full range of Citi's businesses in the region. Those businesses include not only commercial and investment banking, but also Citi's consumer and private banks as well as its transaction services division (CTS).

The successful candidate will deal on a day-to-day basis with colleagues in Citi's other control functions (in particular, Compliance, Internal Audit and Risk) and will likely gain exposure to senior members of Citi's management team, both regionally and globally,
