Load Planner/Transport Planner
BM Distribution Centre in Speke sends out 200 deliveries every 24 hours to its network of 280 stores using its own fleet of 120 lorries.
We have a vacancy for a Load Planner/Transport Planner.
You will be responsible for planning each day's delivery schedule.
This means first assessing the volumes required by each store following the previous day's sales. You will then compile the delivery schedule for the next day. This may mean combining 2 or more stores onto a single lorry or putting on extra deliveries where appropriate to fulfil the demand.
The role necessitates someone highly numerate (ideally Maths A Level), conversant with Excell. An understanding attention to detail is essential. You will need a passion for getting the task 100% right first time in a busy and pressured environment. You will also need to be able to get on with warehouse transport colleagues at all levels.
Hours are 8am - 4pm Monday - Friday. Salary: £20,000 - £30,000 dependant on qualifications and experience.
Transport, Supply Cahin or Manufacturing background preferred.
