Loan Closer
Investment Bank in London is looking to hire an experienced Distressed Loan Closer for an initial 3-month period.
The team are responsible for the following;
Support the Distressed Credit Trading Desk, which equates to approximately 90% of the workflows. Distressed loan closers are not restricted to Loan product and with necessary approvals may settle other product classes where there expertise in physical settlement is required therefore there is scope to facilitate the settlement of a trade in a new product class if documentation is required
The Closing team works closely with the banks trading counterparties which range from other financial institutions, Banks or Hedge Funds. Also they will have to liaise with external Agent banks, Issuers and various internal departments such as Asset Sales team, Middle office Sales and Trading, Controls department, to name a few.
There is a requirement for the Closer to undertake complex settlement issues/problems where no prior experiences have been gained by the individual or the group. The Jobholder would be expected to ascertain how best to resolve these by their interpretation of the documents, liaising with the counterparties, The Desk, Internal and external legal counsel and any other means at their disposal. The role will provide on-going challenges and introduce the closer to situations where there is a degree of familiarity and situations where the closer will need to start from the beginning and build a process.
The jobholder will be involved in all aspects of pre-trade and post-trade queries. The jobholder will be expected to have a comprehensive understanding of the LMA standard terms and conditions (par and distressed) and have a high degree of technical expertise.
The expectation of the Desk is that the closers support the business in whatever way possible (within their remit) and provide solutions to settlements or highlight areas where we cannot move forward and articulate why.
Candidates will require previous experience working with a Loans closing role. It would be ideal if the candidate had worked in a Loan settlement capacity too.
