Loan Servicing Rep II
Working under limited supervision, this position is responsible for various facets of loan processing activities within the secured, Loan Servicing area. This role completes a broad range of operational duties within the assigned area(s), ensuring timely completion and compliance with established internal standards and external regulations. Assigned area(s) may include: Default support; specialized activities in support of ARMs, HELOCs, tax and insurance, research, payoffs, centralized processing unit (CPU); and/or various areas of payment servicing.
Impact on the Business- Meets production and quality statistics in support of departmental goals.- Performs investigation and research on routine and escalated items to include interface with other departments and branch offices to resolve problems/ issues in assigned area(s).- Prepares necessary documents and/or related reporting in support of loan/ payment/ default processing activities as needed. Reconciles and balances work, verifies accuracy of computations and researches and resolves discrepancies as needed.- Maintains complete and accurate records of transactions in accordance with department and/or company policies and procedures. May be responsible for the monitoring of exception reports, investigation and resolution of cases. Demonstrates proficiency with the Mortgage Services system, imaging, desktop faxing, C2 system and MARS.
Customers / Stakeholders- Completes a broad range of processing, operational, reconciliation and/or customer service duties in support of assigned area(s).- Responds to a variety of questions/ inquiries from customers, managers and/ or other departments in a timely and thorough manner.
Leadership Teamwork- Assists all members of the department in meeting established goals by assisting with answering phones, addressing correspondence/ inquiries and overflow processing when needed.- May assist with training and cross-training of personnel within the department.
Operational Effectiveness Control- Ensures that quality work is completed in an efficient and timely manner and within established timelines. - Responsible for compliance with regulatory and investor guidelines and keeps current with all Federal, State, industry specific and departmental policies.
Management of Risk- Ensure compliance, operational risk controls in accordance with HSBC or regulatory standards and policies; and optimize relations with regulators by addressing any issues. - Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the HSBC brand.
Observation of Internal Controls- Maintains HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.
- A high school diploma (or equivalent) with a minimum of three years previous experience in an operations, high volume processing, administrative or customer service function to include previous experience in loan servicing, the mortgage industry, consumer finance or other related activity.- Strong oral and written communication skillS.- Strong analytical and assessment skills.- Demonstrated problem solving ability.- Strong mathematical aptitude.- Strong organization and follow-up skills.- Ability to effectively multi-task and prioritize workflow in a high-volume environment.- Ability to work well independently, as well as, part of a team to achieve department/ group goals.- Proficiency with MS Word and Excel, as well as, pertinent mainframe systems and software packages.- Basic typing/ computer keyboard skills required.- Professional demeanor,tact/ diplomacy and the ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.- Flexibility to the changing requirements and priorities of the business.- Ability to work varied/ alternate shifts and extra hours as determined by management and required by the business.
