Title:  Loan Specialist

Salary Range: 65k-75k

Responsible for ensuring that all commercial real estate (CRE) and multi-family residential (MFR) property loans are set-up and processed in a timely manner while meeting all regulatory compliance requirements and achieving a high level of customer service. Responsibilities primarily focus on customer care and relationship management of the Bank's CRE/MRF Clients.

1.            Communicate with customers, providing excellent customer service and ensuring the customer relationship is maintained and the highest possible level.

2.            Review  set-up loan files for completeness; identifying resolving any missing documentation or potential problems.

3.            Thoroughly analyze each CRE/ MFR loan request, such that the loan narrative, grading worksheet, appraisal(s), environmental assessment(s), application, preliminary report (or title commitment) and all credit, property, and lease verifications meet Banks loan program- and secondary market criteria and are accurately documented.

5.            Analyze income tax returns and financial statements with emphasis on constructing a cash flow statement utilizing the borrower's (and/ or guarantor's) financial statement tax returns.  Determine net operating income, breakeven, and debt service coverage of the secured property.

6.            Review appraisal report to confirm that the three common approaches to estimate market value have been utilized (or justified, when not used); that assumptions are reasonable; and that the report conforms to regulatory requirements and Bank's lending standard.

7.            Prepare CRE/ MFR loan files, for loan closing documents funding, by ensuring that the Request for Closing Documents Form is accurately completed and that the file documentation meets all regulatory information.  Ensure that all pertinent  loan information, including loan terms, are accurately input into the Bank's Loan Origination System to meet regulatory compliance requirements and the Bank's lending standards .

8.            Prepare pre-qualification and/or commitment letters for Relationship Manager review.

9.            Support periodic certification of operating statement information and Client financial information on existing CRE/ MFR loan portfolio.

10.          Cross trains other team members, when applicable.

11.          Perform duties responsibilities specific to department functions activities.

12.          Performs other duties responsibilities as required or assigned by supervisor.

13.          Responsibilities include the following:  1) adhering to and complying with the applicable, federal and state laws, regulations and guidance, including those related to Anti-money laundering (i.e. Bank Secrecy Act, US PATRIOT Act, etc.) 2) adhering to Bank policies and procedures, 3) completing required training,  4) identifying and reporting suspicious activity to the AML Officer, and 5) knowing and verifying the identity of any customer(s) that enters into a relationship with the Bank.

Requirements

• A high school diploma required (college degree preferred).

• 3+ years of previous work experience in CRE/ MFR loan processing and/ or underwriting.

• Basic computer skills are required (preferred skills in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook).

• Additional work experience with an emphasis on customer service preferred.
