Mainframe Systems Programmer - DB2, z/OS and CICS

Mainframe Systems Programmer required for my banking client based in either London, Manchester, Leeds or Scotland to work closely with an existing team delivering IT Operations Services involving fault fixing, preventative maintenance and development projects and reducing costs of the operation through service improvements.

Candidates can either be a specialist in DB2, Z/OS or CICS Systems Programming.

Key responsibilities:
- Actively administer the supported services to meet and strive to exceed SLA's and KPI's
- Deal with complex issues and problems and resolve quickly whether to fix a production problem or implementation of a new solution
- Takes ownership for the effective performance delivered by nominated supplier services
- Undertake assessments of solutions to ensure that they meet the standards that are set
- Contribute to the technology roadmaps and strategy ensuring designs are operable
- Undertake all work professionally when assigned ensuring that the work is delivered to plan and budget
- Ensure security policies and processes are defined and adhered to
- Produce all necessary documentation when undertaking work (author/edit Standard Operating Procedures and Problem Decision Guides, maintain configuration records)

Key Knowledge:
- Expert-level understanding of IBM System Z Mainframe Hardware, including ZOS.
- Expert-level understanding of CICS.
- Knowledge of system administration tasks for DB2 and IMS.
- Practitioner level knowledge of system administration tasks for IBM data storage devices.
