Summary of Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
As a Maintenance Manager for Merchants Metals, you will lead and participate in a maintenance crew challenged with keeping equipment running efficiently. The successful maintenance manager will determine the resources, tools, parts, and equipment necessary for the safe and productive operation of plant machinery/equipment. He/she will independently supervise and complete plant projects for new equipment installations, upgrades, and improvements. Electrical, electronic, mechanical hydraulics, and pneumatic maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment are crucial to the success of our growing company.
- Ensures that plans, schedules, and materials are available to allow for maintenance work to be handled effectively and efficiently (daily and outages)
- Ensure safety compliance and employee issues or concerns are correctly addressed and resolved
- Provide maintenance job planning as required for the facility and effectively communicates (written/verbal) results and action plans as appropriate
- Initiate, sustain and manage an ongoing preventative maintenance program for machinery and associated components and spare parts management system
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum of an AS degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering or Engineering Technology and a minimum 2 years experience in a manufacturing plant.
- Ability to read blueprints and drawings and strong electrical/mechanical/hydraulic/pneumatic aptitude on production machinery.
- Ability to prioritize and manage the capital investment in the facility and technology
- Current understanding of emerging industry regulations and codes relative to mechanical and electrical systems design and operation including 70E implementation
- Proven knowledge of PLC controls and variable speed drives
Preferences:
- Experience with natural gas combustion furnace and kettles
