THE ROLE
An experienced Maintenance/Engineering Manager is required for a leading manufacturer to manage a team of engineers to support production and introduce new equipment. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager you will be in charge of a team of both mechanical and electrical engineers, responsible for managing weekly maintenance schedules and ensuring that breakdowns are fixed with a minimum of down-time. You will also be responsible for Budget Control, Manufacturing Engineering, Health and Safety, and delivering capital expenditure projects.
THE PERSON
The successful candidate may be from either a Mechanical or Electrical background, but will have a successful track record of both proactive and reactive maintenance in an Automotive, Aerospace or general manufacturing environment. You will also have managed a manufacturing engineering or production engineering team and function. It is key that you can demonstrate success in delivering capital expenditure projects implementing equipment, machinery and new facilities. An understanding of modern manufacturing techniques such as lean and Kaizen would be highly advantageous. Strong man management skills are essential.
