Management Consultant
Position Overview
Successful senior consultants and managers demonstrate exceptional analytical, interpersonal and creative-thinking skills. They receive both formal and on-the-job training and ramp up quickly as integral members of the Global Financial Services Practice. Examples of our work include:
Working with a leading investment bank on transformational initiatives to improve their operational efficiency and transparency
Advising a CFO on how to transform finance functions to improve revenue and cost management while providing strategic value to business lines
Assisting banks and investment firms in executing key strategic initiatives
Building the mobile payment strategy for a national retailer in collaboration with their private-label card program
Responsibilities
Working with a team on a client engagement
Performing research and analysis, conducting interviews with clients to gather input, synthesizing the findings and formulating assessments
Developing and delivering presentations to communicate findings to clients
Helping formulate proposed solutions
Assisting in implementing solutions
Supporting practice-building activities such as service offering development and research
Candidate Qualifications
Superior academic results through a degree in business, finance, economics, engineering or mathematics; or an MBA
Four to seven years of experience in consumer financial services or management consulting to financial services companies
Two or more years of experience in regulatory or compliance within a financial services institution
Demonstrated knowledge and experience with consumer financial services, mobile telecomm, IT, payments, retail banking or corporate strategy
Functional knowledge and experience in social media, digital marketing, risk, operations, social media, new FI technologies, e-commerce or business planning and analysis
Specific knowledge of financial services regulations including: Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act (including the Durbin Amendment), credit card accountability, Responsibility and Disclosure Act, Basel Accord updates and other relevant legislation and rules
Applied knowledge of simulation, predictive analytic tools, financial instruments and business intelligence tools
Strong problem solving, quantitative analysis and modeling skills
Highly structured, hypothesis-driven thought process
Proficient in project management methodologies
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Fluent in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Project, and Word
CFA, CPA, Lean Six Sigma, PMP or other relevant certifications, or a desire to pursue certifications a plus
Location and Travel
This position is located in our New York office. The nature of our business requires travel to client locations. Travel time tends to fluctuate, peaking at 40% per week, depending on specific project and client needs.
