Manager, Accounting Research Job in San Antonio, Texas US

We are partneed with a major, publicly quoted energy company and are looking to identify a CPA to become the Head of Accounting Research. This will be a senior position calling for a highly accomplished accountant. The key functions of the role will be as follows.

1. Performs analysis of all technical research and documentation. (40%)

 

2. Reviews all contracts for accounting implications and impact. (25%)
 
3. Implements upcoming accounting requirements. (25%)
 
4. Assists with SEC Reporting during peak periods. (10%)
 
The critical selection criteria are as follows :

EDUCATION:

·         Bachelor's degree

·         Certified Public Accountant and/or Certified Internal Auditor

 

EXPERIENCE:

·         Minimum 5 years internal audit or public accounting, including working understanding and application of internal controls in commercial/industrial corporations.

·         Working experience with Sarbanes-Oxley Act requirements and related SEC regulations.

·         Technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
 

SPECIAL SKILLS:

·         Ability to locate and use accounting research tools and materials.

·         Analytical skills applicable to technical accounting and financial reporting matters.

·         Oral and written communication

·         MS Office applications, including Excel and Word

·         Internet use for accounting research.

·         Enterprise-wide information system, like SAP, is desirable.
