Job DESCRIPTION

Our industrial products serve industries ranging from hydrocarbon, chemical and food processing to construction and mining.

The Performance Analysis Group at Hamilton Sundstrand / Air Management Systems is seeking a candidate with demonstrated expertise in the application of analytical methods and high-fidelity simulations, including computational fluid dynamics and conjugate heat transfer simulations, to support the design of power and/or cooling system components. The candidate shall have experience leading multi-disciplinary analysis teams, as well as experience leading the application of analytical and experimental methods to validate high-fidelity simulations. The candidate must also possess a strong working knowledge of Fluent/CFX/StarCCM+ or a similar simulation environment.

A successful candidate will manage a group responsible for executing analysis and design of key components (ducts, mixers, heat exchangers, turbo-machinery) within highly integrated Air Management Systems (e.g. Environmental Control, Engine Bleed Air, Air Distribution, Liquid and Vapor Cycle Systems, and gas inerting systems) for multiple aircraft programs. The candidate will be responsible for continuous improvement of the overall group' capability including mentoring personnel, development of standard work instructions for analysis, and identification and implementation of state-of-the-art methods to address key capability gaps. In addition, the candidate must be able to direct failure investigations and root cause analysis, and be able to effectively present data to drive decision making within a multi-disciplinary team.

Additional qualifications include strong interpersonal skills which are critical to working in a team environment with other design disciplines within the organization. Daily interactions with Project Engineering, System and Component Design, Structural Analysis, and Reliability are required. Writing skills to make technical reports and presentations concise and understandable to a wide audience are required. In addition, the candidate will be expected to participate in technical interactions with the customer (both commercial and military) and suppliers on a regular basis.

- MS in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline

- 10+ years of related work experience
- Working knowledge of StarCCM+, Fluent, CFX or similar simulation platform
- Demonstrated ability to lead multi-disciplinary analysis teams
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering ( related Engineering disciplines considered
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 10 years of working experience required
IND. EXP: Aerospace, Defense, Space, Energy, Automotive, Manufacturing, Government, Commercial Products
