Position Overview
Successful managers demonstrate exceptional analytical, interpersonal and creative thinking skills. They receive both formal and on-the-job training and ramp up quickly as integral members of the Financial Services Practice. A Manager's responsibilities include:
- Leading a project or a project work-stream under senior management’s supervision
- Managing consultant(s) on projects
- Performing research and analysis, including conducting client interviews to gather input, synthesizing the findings and formulating an assessment
- Developing and delivering presentations to clients
- Articulating possible scenarios and recommendations
- Formulating and formalizing proposed solutions
- Implementing solutions
- Mentoring junior staff members
- Developing and enhancing client relationships
- Leading and supporting business development activities such as drafting and presenting client proposals
- Supporting practice-building activities such as development of service offerings, research, marketing and recruiting
Candidate Qualifications
- Superior academic results through bachelor’s degree, an MBA is a plus
- Six to ten years of experience in the financial services industry
- Minimum of four years in strategy, organization and management consulting or relevant internal project experience
- Good general knowledge of the capital markets industry and financial instruments
- Strong focus on cash equity products and operational trade flows
- Experience working with front-office, middle-office, back-office and/or risk department in capital market firms
- Highly structured, hypothesis-driven thought process
- Good experience in writing and reengineering business processes
- Proficient in project management methodologies
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Fluent in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and Word
- CFA, CPA, Lean, 6 Sigma, PMP or other relevant certifications a plus; desire to pursue certifications a plus
Location and Travel
This position is located in our New York office. The nature of our business requires travel to client locations. Travel time tends to fluctuate, peaking at 40% per week, depending on specific project and client needs.
