About the role
- ensuring compliance by FICC's Australian staff with internal and external policies
- assisting with all general queries from the business, other compliance departments and support areas (Market Operations, Credit, Audit)
- reviewing marketing material to ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements
- monitoring and surveillance activities
- liaising with Macquarie's groupwide Compliance function (internal reviews, ad hoc queries)
- assisting Internal Audit with FICC-related audits
- assisting with general Compliance projects
- assisting with FICC's compliance training programme
- assisting with the design, maintenance and implementation of FICC policies relating to Compliance
About you
- regulatory compliance experience gained within an institutional bank demonstrating solid understanding of the Australian regulatory environment, and ideally some exposure to other global regulators
- knowledge of regulatory and legislative developments, regulations and changes affecting Business Divisions
- willingness to take on a diverse role and to leverage personal experience and skills into new areas
- strong interpersonal and relationship building skills to build good relationships with clients and stakeholders across all levels, including with external parties as relevant, such as regulatory bodies
- the ability to be effective in self management of workload and time
- proven ability to manage the need to switch between being immersed in detailed day to day activity and problem-solving versus managing higher level longer term activities and objectives
- proven ability to sustain high level of performance under pressure with short deadlines
- effective communication skills including strong written communication
- enthusiasm, motivation and the ability to be proactive
- solid understanding of some or all of the products provided by FICC
About us
The Risk Management Group (RMG) is an independent, centralised unit responsible for assessing and monitoring risks across Macquarie. This includes market and liquidity risk, credit risk, compliance risk and operational risk. RMG personnel liaise closely with all operating areas to ensure risks are understood and properly managed.
Compliance is a Division within Macquarie's Risk Management Group that provides compliance support and advice to Macquarie's operating businesses. Compliance staff sit in Macquarie's operating businesses, assisting those businesses globally to manage their compliance risks.
The Compliance team within Macquarie's Fixed Income, Currencies and Commodities Group directly supports the group's divisions, including Fixed Income Currencies, Futures, Energy Markets and Metals and Energy Capital.
