Manager Corporate Tax

Tax Manager job opportunities who have a strong background working and managing a team in a busy corporate tax department.

This is a unique position as a quality assurance level, working on a wide range of complex assignments.

You will be a professionally qualified, experienced tax manager responsible for reviewing prepared corporate tax computations and associated work across a range of industries and varying complexity type, ensuring that all required aspects of the tax computations, documentation and compliance process satisfy high standards.

The role will involve directing, managing and developing a team of tax preparers, with the need to be able to identify/solve issues, improve/grow the services provided to client teams, and develop and up skill the team by sharing best practices and insight.

The Tax Preparation Team is a specifically set up area of the Tax practice that deals with the significant corporate tax compliance work. This work covers tax compliance from across the firm and across the country.

Responsibilities

As a Manager within Quality Assurance you will have:

Experience in managing a team, allocating work appropriately, quality assuring their outputs and providing feedback on work quality/areas for improvement.

Proven ability to focus, develop and support team members and build their tax technical knowledge in the core area of corporate tax compliance.

Strong organisational skills and the ability to identify key process steps, logically organise work, manage a fluctuating workload and deliver to demanding client deadlines.

Proven ability to provide strong leadership influence to motivate and develop a team

To have a broader perspective of potential issues encountered when managing diverse teams and the strategies to overcome them; have a clear understanding of the firm’s commitment to creating a more inclusive culture

Requirements

To qualify for the role you must have:

Attention to detail and diligent and conscientious work practices.

Ability to work under pressure.

Broad Corporate Tax experience of compliance process (Computation preparation, experience in understanding and resolving tax technical issues, manager review and submission).

Strong related corporate tax technical skills over a broad range of issues and the ability to research and conclude on new/developing tax technical issues. Some knowledge and experience of other business tax returns (for example Non Resident Landlords, partnerships, reporting funds) useful but not essential.

Ability to develop deep understanding and application of Thomson Reuters ONESOURCE Corporate Tax, and internal compliance process/best practices.
