Job Summary:
The position necessitates a hands-on Manager of Distributed Infrastructure Services, which will lead the technical direction, design, development, delivery and leadership of strategic new technology initiatives. This person will play a significant role in strategic and tactical direction of key projects, and will engage cross-functionally at all levels of the organization. Candidate must be passionate about technology and delivering services and operational-excellence. This position requires business or technical expertise in distributed solution and infrastructure, and extensive expertise in various technologies such as Storage, Servers, Virtualization and Linux. The desired person will be a player coach leading with emotional intelligence, and is expected to provide on-call rotation along with resolving complex technical challenges within the enterprise. This is a hands-on technical position responsible for troubleshooting, configuration, on-call and implementation from daily one.
Essential Tasks:
* Implement and execute distributed infrastructure hardware and software configuration, installation, patching, integration, upgrades, and performance tuning of multiple environments while leveraging vendor relationships and expertise as required. Deliver operational and administrative mentorship to IT Systems Administrators in support of critical production systems -mentoring technical associates as the Sr. Technical professional.
* Deliver operational support related to the hosts attached to the respective storage systems, including but not limited to servers and clusters running Microsoft Windows, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, VMware ESX/vSphere, IBM iSeries, and HP-UX.
* Support daily operations related to the Distributed environments such as capacity management, performance monitoring and reporting, provisioning, and network systems connectivity. Ability to provide after hours (on-call) support, and maintain a flexible work schedule to accommodate planned and unplanned maintenance activities.
* Provide Distributed server design, implementation, and support recommendations to information technology partners and IT leadership with an emphasis on data security, availability, integrity, and optimal performance.
* Ability to consistently adhere to change and incident management policies when implementing system changes and addressing problem resolution.
* Consistently monitoring systems consumption of strategic assets to provide a capacity on demand framework that support all mission critical systems and functions.
Job Requirements:
* This leadership position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and/or equivalent 5-7+ years of Management (People Technical) experience of multiple functions: Virtualization, Storage, Mid-range, Desktop (VDI), Linux and Windows platforms
* Experience designing, managing, and administering complex virtualization environments in multiple locations which providing High-Availability, reliability, and scalability
* Experience administering, architecting, and managing servers, storage, and systems monitoring in multiple and complex network server environments
* Experience architecting solutions which meet High Availability requirements for 24x7 business operations
* Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
* Experience adhering to change and incident management policies in an enterprise environment
* Experience leading technical efforts and coordinate both project and operational activities
* Excellent organizational and communication (written and verbal) skills
* End-to-end responsibility for all Distributed Infrastructure server platforms related functions
* Evaluates new technologies and develops departmental standard practices to insure SOX and PCI compliance
* Identifies and proactively develops strategies to mitigate infrastructure outages and improve MTTR
* Design, implementation, and management of all Distributed Infrastructure
* Responsible for providing comprehensive support for design, implementation, and 3rd level support of all
infrastructure platforms
* Document all operational processes and procedures to manage all aspects of the deployed systems
* Define and implement automated system installation/configuration procedures
* Establish the appropriate environment and Infrastructure life cycle for Development, Testing, and Deployment
* Create System Run Books, defining day-to-day support, maintenance, troubleshooting of the infrastructure
* Recommend changes and improvements to the current environment
* Work closely with Development and Operations to ensure production readiness of the applications and the
appropriate support are in place
* Experience with VMware vSphere environments using EMC and NetApp storage via Fiber Channel and NFS
* VMware Certified Professional (VCP) certification
* Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) or MCSE equivalent
* Must have an insatiable desire for Innovation Technology to drive a competitive advantage
Preferred Requirements:
* Ability to deliver technical and administrative support partnership to IT Systems and Applications
Administrators in the IT department
* Strong understanding of networking and IP address management is required
* Must be able to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences
* Must have an excellent understanding of infrastructure systems and sense-of-urgency 24x7x365
* Should have an indept understanding of current industry trends and their advantages with the enterprise
* Must be a self-starting Leader with the ability to coach, mentor, and lead others technically w/mutual respect
* Must be able to prepare, present, and maintain technical documentation for Operational reviews
*Extensive troubleshooting and performance monitoring skills by platform, lead technically
* Knowledge of Application Servers such as Tomcat, Websphere, and Apache
* Experience supporting eCommerce Infrastructure running Oracle-based and ATG
* vSphere, View, SRM, vCloud Director, Orchestrator experience a plus
* VMware Certified Design Expert (VCDE) certification desirable
* Oracle Database Administrator Certification a plus
* Oracle Linux Administrator Certified Associate
* Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHSA) with multi-year enterprise management experience
* Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) with multi-year enterprise management support experience
