Manager Financial Risk Analytics recruitment
Role Definition:
- Review and approval of GI regional/business unit economic capital models/submissions
- Work with external auditors and businesses to deliver unqualified audit outcome for GI businesses ICA and future GI Business Economic Capital outputs.
- Support and respond to model reviews and challenges from internal Audit (3rd line)
- Modelling and inclusion of smaller GI businesses
- Incorporation of non insurance entities in group results
- Aggregation of Group GI results
- Deliver top quartile position relative to GI competitors with respect to Economic Capital modelling of GI business
- Responsible for managing oversight of Economic Capital and Financial Risk (credit, market and liquidity risk metrics).
- Groupwide technical lead for GI Economic Capital calibration and methodology development.
- Implementation and control of phased upgrades in conjunction with businesses Groupwide.
- Responsible for applying emerging solvency II standards and methodology
- Responsible for ensuring there is regional agreement to all key methodology decisions.
- Responsible for ensuring model meets the requirements of solvency II disclosures and ‘use’ test.
- Mobilise and manage a permanent team of 4-5. Ensure effective delivery through resources at all times.
- Responsible for training and communication requirements surrounding the GI Economic Capital models.
Skills:
- Deep knowledge of economic capital modelling and latest developments in this field.
- Detailed understanding of issues faced by General insurers.
- Detailed understanding of economic capital modelling and aggregation techniques.
- Detailed understanding of Solvency II and implications for the Insurance industry across different markets.
- Ability to quickly interpret technical and strategic side of guidance around Solvency II as it released.
- Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively to both technical and non-technical senior audiences.
- Ability to work through other team members within project teams as well as through other members of the permanent business teams.
- Ability to prioritise work and delegate effectively.
- Good understanding of project management disciplines an advantage
- Report writing and presentation skills.
Candidates need NOT be actuaries and can be insurance / banking professionals with a strong academic background.
