Manager, Hedge Accounting

A leading Banking Group is currently recruiting for a Hedge Accounting Manager to join the Treasury team in Group Finance. This is a high profile position with the opportunity to liaise across the business with Finance and Front Office teams as part of day-to-day activity.

The successful candidate will have responsibility for the production of MI and analytics to assess various hedge accounting relationships and for the identification, documentation, testing and accounting for bespoke hedge accounting packages, cash flow and fair value models.

Key responsibilities include:

Ensuring appropriate accounting treatment of existing hedge accounting relationships
Continual improvement of existing processes to enhance the team efficiency
Investigation into hedge ineffectiveness on new and existing hedge accounting relationships
Daily IFRS profit and loss reporting
Continual assessment of the control environment, involving the design and implementation of control reports
Analysis of new trades to determine appropriate accounting treatment under IAS39

The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant with experience in a similar area (Interest Rate and FX environment). Good knowledge of banking products and the accounting for financial instrument is essential, as is a solid understanding of IAS39. Advanced Excel and strong communication skills are required for this position.
