MANAGER OF INVESTMENT ADMINISTRATION / CLIENT SERVICE
Description:
A boutique Asset Manager is now seeking a Manager of Investment Administration / Client Service to join their office in Edinburgh. The successful individual will be expected to lead, motivate and develop people in the team to optimise productivity, inter team relationships, maximise client satisfaction (of both internal and external customers) meet quality standards, deliver business objectives and realise team and individual potential.
Core Responsibilities:
- Lead, manage and coach the investment administration / client service team
- Set and maintain standards to ensure efficient, timely and accurate processing and authorisation of client servicing, investment transactions and payments – “hands on” when required to ensure operational continuity
- Manage the day to day operational relationships with external suppliers (custodians and software suppliers e.g. investment administration and CRM systems)) including dealing with any performance issues as required
- Ensure continuity and effectiveness of investment management systems e.g. price feeds, custodian, valuations, straight through processing, ISA returns, liaison with others e.g. SIPP administrators, platform providers, compliance consultants. auditors
- Ensure systems, processes, procedures, records and controls in place to achieve quality and operational standards, reduce risk and ensure compliance with the FCA regulatory obligations with regard to client assets and best industry practice. Understanding and management of client assets to FCA requirements.
- Optimise allocation, work flow, controls and resourcing to ensure tasks are completed on time.
- Foster a culture of improvement and (internal external) client service – so all staff conscious of need to maintain quality, minimise risk and manage costs
- Ensure all aspects of work between different departments are coordinated and that effective communication exists between all areas
- Job holder may need to work across divisions and on projects (including managing projects) required by the business delivering to scope, time and quality expected
- Ensure all external and internal enquiries and problems relating to administration, client service and business objectives are resolved or referred as necessary
- Manage area to agreed budget and resourcing levels
- Production of MIS for line manager

Core Requirements:
- Likely to be graduate level
- Private client Investment administration qualification (IOC) or equivalent
- May already hold a FCA regulated role (but not essential)
- Experienced line manager with ability to lead and manage change / improvements
- Project management
- Experience of leading client administration / client service area
