Manager – Open Ended Fund Accounting recruitment

We are looking for an experienced Manager with strong technical ability to join our Open Ended Fund Accounting team in Glasgow. The Open Ended Fund Accounting (OEFA) department is a high profile business area responsible for providing fund accounting and administration services to asset managers. This includes statutory and financial statement reporting services for UK Open Ended Investment Companies and Unit Trusts and Luxembourg based SICAVs. In addition, the department also supports our NAV Pricing Team on a daily basis. You will be working closely with and reporting to Senior Management within the Open Ended Fund Accounting department effectively contributing to the successful delivery of agreed reporting requirements in accordance with our client service level agreements. This role involves the management of a team of around 20 staff within the OEFA department. The team will be responsible for all reporting deliverables for c.60 funds in accordance with agreed client service level agreements and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities will include:
- Manage a team of around 20 staff including direct reports of c.2-3 team leaders
- Oversight of team performance and development
- Oversight of quality of service delivery
- Corrective and preventative actions if deadlines / quality standards are at risk
- Internal management reporting (e.g. KPI reporting)
- Performance reporting to Client
- Communication with Clients, Auditors, Trustees, Custodians and other departments within BNP Paribas Securities Services
- Plan and manage all Client, Audit, Trustee and Regulatory visits
- Continual oversight/assessment of team processes to improve efficiency and reduce risk or cost
- Error reporting and implementation of preventative actions
- Review of teams output on a regular sample basis
- Manage any change activity including planning and implementation of fund launches, mergers and liquidations
- Ensure all significant activities are documented in procedure notes which are kept up-to-date
- Ensure compliance with Internal Control Framework procedures (Audit Assurance Framework (AAF))
- Training and continuing competency (TC) for self and review and sign-off for applicable team members
- Any ad-hoc projects as agreed with the Head of Department Applicants must hold a full accountancy qualification (i.e. CA, ACCA, CIMA). You will be an experienced manager with the ability to lead a sizable team c20 staff. A working knowledge of the authorised fund SORP (2005) and FSA regulations pertaining to Unit Trusts and Open Ended Investment would be beneficial.
