Manager Strategic Development
An opportunity for a Manager has become available to join the Strategic Development Team. The Manager Strategic Development is to assist the Executive Manager Strategic Advisory in providing insight and direction on the strategic issues facing CBA WM. The successful candidate will assist the Executive Manager and other team members in supporting the specific strategic initiatives that form part of the 3-5 year strategic repositioning program.
This will entail liaising with key stakeholders relevant to the initiatives, as well as conducting research and strategic analysis to provide industry, competitor and internal insights that support the successful execution of the portfolio of initiatives.
Duties will include but are not limited to:
- Support specific strategic initiatives within the WM strategic repositioning program, involving stakeholders across WM and CBA.
- Conduct research into industry dynamics/competitor activity and assess CBA WM's competitive advantage to assist in developing a view of the appropriate future strategic positioning of CBA WM.
- Conduct financial modelling for business cases or possibly valuations relating to MA activities
- Contribute to strategic analyses of specific issues relating to the WM strategic repositioning program leading to actionable recommendations to the Group Executive Wealth Management and the WM Leadership Team.
- Assist in the development of strategies that maximise leverage of the collective strengths - skills, experience and scale opportunities - that exist across WM and CBA.
- Assist with selected MA activity.
Person Specification:
- The appointee will preferably possess a sound knowledge and exposure to many facets of the banking and financial services industry, and ideally have relevant experience specifically within the wealth management industry.
- Given the Strategic Development team works as an internal advisory unit within WM, the desired personal attributes of the appointee include strong networking, influencing and communication skills, as well as logic, conceptualisation and problem-solving skills.
- Have strong financial, analytical, research and problem solving skills.
- Have the ability to analyse complex problems through the application of strategic models and frameworks as well as logic, conceptualisation and problem-solving skills.
