Manager, Strategic Initiatives

Role Description The primary purpose of this role is to support the expansion, management, and excellence of the Pfizer Supplier Diversity program, the GPO CI Program, and the GPO Innovation Program through project management, organizational team collaboration, and data management. It reports to the Director of Strategic Initiatives - Global Procurement Operations and interfaces with numerous internal Pfizer groups, in addition to liasing with various external organizations and businesses. Responsibilities Supplier Diversity Responsibilities (60%): - Develop Supplier Diversity Category Plans on assigned areas using both market and Pfizer specific analysis to identify strategic opportunities to increase supplier diversity spend. - Support the management of the automated supplier diversity reporting supplier, including but not limited to, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of their reports. - Work with site based colleagues and CSM's to develop a multi-level Supplier Diversity section of their Category Plans. - Attend Supplier Diversity conferences, as necessary, to represent Pfizer's interest through presentations, supplier development, and industry benchmarking/connection. - Concretely demonstrate small to significant contributions towards Pfizer's supplier diversity spend goals. - Create and maintain a process to manage additions and subtractions to Pfizer's Supplier Diversity spend 8 - 24 months in advance of the current metrics. - Serve as a representative of Pfizer on external boards/organizations, as necessary. - Support the sourcing process for large/strategic initiatives, as required. - Coordinate Pfizer's attendance at various industry conferences and assist in manage the budget associated with supporting these organizations. Innovation Responsibilities (20%): - Master the Corporate Innovation Strategy and become and internal champion for its principles. - Lead Innovation training workshops for GPO resources, as assigned. - Identify best practices in Innovation throughout the industry, company, and GPO organization, such that they can be leveraged within GPO in an efficient and effective manner. Continuous Improvement Responsibilities (20%): - Support the creation of a Six Sigma culture in GPO through leading, supporting, and promoting Six Sigma training. - Create and promote the use of a living toolkit to guide GPO resources on how and when to use DMAIC principles to find/drive value creation and savings in their categories. - Lead Innovation training workshops for GPO resources, as assigned. - Support the process of deploying Six Sigma Trained GPO resources to support GPO projects, as requested by internal teams. Qualifications Education and Experience: A Bachelor's Degree is required for this position. An MBA is desirable. Technical Skills Requirements: Experience in an assigned spend area within a Procurement or Operations role, Six Sigma Certification is desirable, and Certified Purchasing Manager (or equivalent) credentials are all desirable. Physical Position Requirements: This role will be based in the Pfizer New York office, however, travel is required approximately 20% of the time.
