We currently are seeking a dynamic, strategic, and innovative Manager, Supply Chain Profitability. This key position will be based in our operations facility in San Ferando, CA (So. CA).
Position Summary:
Responsible for optimizing process improvement and profitability of Pharmavite's Supply Chain by conducting systematic analyses to find opportunities in the areas of cost reduction, productivity gains, and enhancements of throughput in Operations. Leads multiple teams in developing and executing strategies in the areas mentioned, and creates metrics and program governance to ensure sustainable results.
Responsibilities:
- Achieves results and brings out the best in people by:
- Establishing job design and ensuring appropriate staffing to deliver the department's strategy operating plan and short-term objectives.
- Communicating department goals and objectives and cascading them to others, ensuring workload is distributed appropriately to achieve goals and objectives
- Maintaining two way dialogue with direct reports on work and results.
- Interpreting and ensuring Company policies and procedures are understood and consistently followed by others.
- Collaboratively creating development plans and coaching individuals in achieving them.
- Working within the people management systems in the Company to develop others (performance management, rewards and selection process); and
- Creating an energizing work environment that supports the Company's high performance culture while ensuring an efficient and flexible organization.
- Identifies potential operational improvement and profitability opportunities, and supports on-going operational excellence, by:
- Facilitating review and identification of the Company's Operational processes, practices, and systems by working collaboratively with stakeholders in multiple departments.
- Developing Pharmavite's benchmarks through monitoring industry trends, best practices, and metrics.
- Coordinating the reporting of strategic weekly and monthly operations metric
- Participates in the ongoing development and maintenance of corporate supply chain strategies.
- Manages the prioritization and planning for operational improvement and profitability opportunities throughout the year, by:
- Developing business cases to document costs, benefits, and Returns on Investment (ROI)
- Assessing and recommending business priorities and resource requirements.
- Prioritizing opportunities based on established criteria, including business needs, costs, dependencies, and other factors.
- Provides overall project planning and management support across the Operations organization, by:
- Serving as project manager/project lead for key initiatives, while providing project management expertise and leading project reviews for others.
- Representing Operations on key projects led by other areas of the Company.
- Developing re-usable project and program management processes and tools to help drive consistency and excellence in project management.
- Supports annual planning and budgeting activities, by:
- Providing inputs related to opportunities, priorities, and constraints.
- Coordinating analysis across groups.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Requires a four year college or university degree or its equivalent in supply chain or related field. An MBA a plus.
Certification:
None. APICS and Six Sigma Black belt are preferred.
Experience:
- Requires five to eight years experience in supply chain or related management positions.
- Extensive experience implementing Lean manufacturing concepts.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Strong systems knowledge, i.e. SAP, JDE, and Oracle.
- Excellent computer skills in Access, Excel, Word, and Project.
- Demonstrated skills in supply chain processes, inventory strategy, forecasting, production planning, MRP, production, and distribution.
- Ability to provide direction and influence change by articulating business across multiple functions and levels
- Strong team and collaboration skills.
- Excellent project and change management skills.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Lean and six sigma principles and processes.
- Strong analytical skills within supply chain management.
Physical Requirements:
General office environment. Ability to sit for long periods of time. Able to move about an office and travel to local facilities. Able to move about and interact on the manufacturing and distribution floor. May require periodic travel within the U.S.
Environment:
Exposure to disagreeable elements is negligible.
Safety:
The incumbent must be able to perform this job safely without endangering the health or safety of self or others.
Supervisory Responsibility:
Incumbent has direct supervisory responsibility for one to five employees.
