JOB TITLE Manufacturing Engineer (Tooling)

JOB DESCRIPTION

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a leading manufacturing engineering business, working in their Dynamic Composite Components Department for the position of Manufacturing Engineer (Tooling).

Main tasks and activities for the Manufacturing Engineer will include, but not be limited to:

•Providing technical support interacting with design, supply and operational teams in order to ensure effective and efficient specification and development of components before and during manufacture.
•Creating fully detailed tooling and equipment designs where appropriate utilising advanced CATIA processes.
•Creating fully detailed NC fixture designs for internal or external manufacture and create NC programming for fixture manufacture and NC of part using CATIAV4 or V5.
•Preparing specifications, interfacing with contractors, obtaining quotations, raising purchase documentation and procuring products or services to support the departmental outputs.
•Project-manage and be responsible for project or process from initial concept through new product introduction (FAI) to product sustainment repair. Provide project plans, lead times and workload requirements and identify any threats which may affect schedule adherence or costs.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS EXPERIENCE

•Qualified to Degree/HNC or equivalent in a mechanical, production, composite or aeronautical discipline, with a recognised engineering apprenticeship.
•In-depth specialist knowledge of composite material science, engineering design and manufacturing technology (relevant composite experience).
•High level of proven interpersonal skills, communication, good commercial judgement and effective negotiating skills.
•Knowledge of specialist plant equipment, tooling and information technology (hardware and software).
•Proven project management skills and experience.
•High level of computer literacy including NC Programming skills
•CATIA Specific Experience in advanced CATIA processes (4000hrs plus) and advanced 2 D and 3 D NC programming including sign off. (4000hrs plus)
