Manufacturing Engineer Job in Columbia, South Carolina US
Job Shop is working with a powerhouse manufacturing company in the Heavy Equipment Industry! This leader in support of the Transportation Department is growing by Leaps and Bounds with several facilities in four countries!
Work closely with the Manufacturing Engineering team! Responsibilities will include:
* Partner with product designers, materials management, supplier quality, supply chain, and operations to deliver and execute manufacturing solutions for new and existing products.
* Implement engineering changes into manufacturing, avoiding efficiency loss, non-conforming product, and inventory obsolescence wherever possible.
* Develop and maintain production bills of material in the ERP System.
* Develop and maintain production standards and work instructions within part routings in the ERP system
* Develops product/process designs and implements production methods to reduce manufacturing costs and ensure quality as part of the process
* Drive manufacturing development, increased productivity, and continuous improvement with a focus on lean principles.
* Identify capital equipment needs, work with vendors and production personnel to determine product specifications and assist in purchase of equipment
* Have direct involvement in all kaizen events within area of responsibility
* Apply statistical methods to estimate future production requirements, machine and manpower capacity
* Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs
* During new product launch, communicate project status and impacts to project team and leadership
Requirements
Candidates must have a Bachelors degree in Engineering Field and a minimum of 3+ years experience! Prior Welding Fabrication experience in Heavy Equipment or Automotive Industry a must!
