POSITION SUMMARY 

Leads Manufacturing Department’s efforts in cost improvements and savings projects.  Participates in and coordinates manufacturing efficiency improvements through automation and assembly line process improvements.  Responsible for general facilities, including repairs, improvements, and renovation.  Directs, manages and coordinates all activities of personnel and equipment relating to the Maintenance Department, and provides functional guidance.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
MANUFACTURING RELATED

Ø  Recommends process improvements pertaining to manufacturing processes, including production flow, assembly methods and production equipment, resulting in cost savings, quality improvement and improved efficiencies

Ø  Analyzes work force utilization, facility layout, and operation data such as production costs, process flow charts, and production schedule to determine efficient utilization of workers and equipment

Ø  Participates in manufacturing projects management for key manufactured items

Ø  Analysis of machine failures and coordination of recovery efforts

Ø  Performs product/process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement, and improved efficiency

Ø  Participates in the planning and installation of manufacturing equipment, line set-up, automated machine integration of existing processes and training in all aspects of same

Ø  Directs or conducts observation and analysis of personnel and work procedures to determine time and motion requirements of job duties

FACILITY RELATED

Ø  Manage facility improvements and repairs as necessary

Ø  Manage equipment PMs, improvements and repairs as necessary

Ø  Manages maintenance logs and histories for company vehicles.   Completes or assigns to trained personnel the duties required to maintain company vehicles.

Ø  Prepare and maintains detailed engineering layouts of buildings and equipment

Ø  Plans, develops, and implements departmental policies and goals

Ø  Ensures compliance with QSRs, ISO and EN for all activities within departments/functional areas

Ø  Develops staff, including mentoring, career development, intra-personal skills, annual performance appraisals, etc

Ø  Manages all Maintenance Technicians

Ø Ensure that all required paperwork, documentation, etc. are completed in a thorough and timely manner

Ø  Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions

Ø  Ability to be proactive in the identification and solution to engineering related issues

Ø  Identifies, initiates, plans, conducts, reviews, evaluates and supervises daily tasks with minimal functional guidance

Ø  Plans and assigns personnel for given projects or tasks as required

Ø  Interprets and applies corporate policies

Ø  Departmental budget (operating and capital)

Ø  Knowledge of materials, methods, techniques, practices, tools, equipment, and processes required to efficiently execute tasks in manufacturing

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Ø  Maintenance Technicians

EDUCATION

Ø  Bachelor’s degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering

EXPERIENCE

Ø  Minimum of 8 years related experience in manufacturing and process control in a QSR and/or ISO environment

Ø  Experience in high volume manufacturing

Ø  Experience in the research, installation and validation of automated machinery

Ø  Demonstrated track record of process improvements

Ø  Has participated in new line/product start-ups

Ø  Fundamental knowledge of business and financial metrics

TECHNICAL SKILLS/COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Ø  Skilled In use of PC based business applications (Excel, Work, Power Point, Access, etc.)

Ø  Highly effective written, oral presentation and communications skills

Ø  Ability to apply basic and complex mathematical operations and concepts to manufacturing processes as related to statistical analysis and process improvements (i.e. SPC, AQL, SixSigma, variance analysis, etc.),
