Manufacturing Engineer Job in Rockford, Illinois Us
The Senior Manufacturing Engineer position is a hands-on position which requires spending large amounts of time on the manufacturing floor. This position will lead a team to develop more productive machining processes.
Duties:
· Plan, direct, and coordinate machining processes to meet the master planning requirements
· Analyze and plan work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow for maximum efficiency
· Estimate production times, staffing requirements, and related cost to provide information for management decisions
· Initiate and participate at the highest levels in manufacturing reviews of engineering part design of machine tool components to help ensure optimum cost, quality, safety, and schedule is obtained and maintained
· Design machine shop tools and fixtures to assist in the manufacturability of parts and part cost reductions
· Provide technical support as required
· Complete special projects as required
· Assists with other tasks as needed
Qualifications:
· Knowledge of cutting tools, fixtures and machine tool processing
· Strong project management skills with the ability to control and track projects to completion
· Excellent communication and problem solving skills and the ability to complete all required documentation
· Ability to develop jig and tooling concepts and design details
· Familiarity with G-code, M-code, and machine controllers
· Ability to set-up machines, test, debug, and train maintenance and production staff
· Authorization to work in the United States
Experience:
· Minimum of 5 years experience in manufacturing or mechanical engineering experience
· Experience in mill machining is preferred
Education:
· BS in Engineering is required. In absence of a degree at least 10 years experience in manufacturing or mechanical engineering is required.
