Manufacturing Engineering and QA Manager
Tyco Fire Protection Products (TFPP) is a business unit of Tyco Fire Products (TFP). We are a worldwide leader in saving lives and protecting property around the globe with our broad portfolio of chemical and water segment products for the fire suppression and building products industries. Within TFPP we design, manufacture, and distribute the highest quality products with market leading features for the Commercial, Residential, Storage, HVAC/Plumbing, and Food Service, Petroleum Oil Gas, Mining, and Marine markets. TFPP is a recognized leader in researching new technologies and developing innovative solutions for our customers. The business unit has approximately 3,200 employees with 15 manufacturing plants and 44 Distribution Branches in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Singapore, Shanghai, Canada, Latin America, and the US. TFPP is headquartered in Lansdale, PA.
TFPP is currently hiring a Manufacturing Engineer/QA Manager in their Great Yarmouth location. TFPP Great Yarmouth is a business strategic manufacturing unit producing chemical, water and gas suppression systems and components for the Fire Protection industry. We currently have 100 employees at this location.
The Plant forms an integral part of a Global Fire Protection supply chain, and participates in Sales and Operations Planning processes with group downstream Sales and Distribution operations, to ensure high standards of delivery performance. Manufacturing operations typically include machining, fabrication, welding, pressure testing and cylinder filling.
The hightlights of this position are:
Lead the drive for Continuous Improvement, Operational Excellence and world class Quality Management at the Great Yarmouth site.
Maintain the highest standards of quality compliance through development of a world class manufacturing engineering and quality culture.
Provide full support to existing plant, equipment and processes. Actively implement process improvements and problem solving. Fully support the business and products from a technical and manufacturing engineering perspective.
Implement and drive forward a world class quality system and lead the implementation of error proofed manufacturing systems and best in class root cause analysis and preventive action
Ensure the effective interface with RD to contribute design for manufacture elements into the design and development of new and existing components and processes in support of TFPP new product development, VA/VE and sustaining engineering goals.
You will be working very closely with many parts of the business:
Quality, Environment, Health and Safety:
Maintain the highest standards of quality, safety and environmental compliance through development of a world class quality and EHS culture.
Facilities Management:
Maintain the facilities and key equipment therein to minimise unplanned downtime and EHS risks through a TPM system
Manufacturing Engineering:
To ensure all site production and associated transactional processes are operated at the optimum rate, efficiency and value consistent with EHS, manufacturing plan and product quality requirements.
Operational Excellence:
To provide the leadership and direction for continuous improvement, in alignment with TFPP EMEA Manufacturing strategies.
Team Leadership, Training and Development:
To lead and manage the development of a world-class manufacturing operation through a highly skilled, capable and flexible workforce.
The ideal candidate will have the following:
Masters or Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering/ Production Engineering or equivalent
Qualifications to enable attainment of Chartered Engineer status or similar
Certified Black Belt in Lean Six Sigma (Operational Excellence)
Minimum 5 years post-graduate experience in manufacturing engineering, with the last 2 years in a manufacturing leadership role
Experience of managing ISO9001 systems
Experience of problem solving systems
