PURPOSE:  To provide leadership and direction to manufacturing staff, as direct support to the Vice President of Operations, regarding the day-to-day activities in the plant.  This includes assuring proper resource usage, efficient staffing levels, production and quality monitoring, and execution of plans and projects as assigned, always with the focus of meeting customer needs.  Recommend improvements in areas of responsibility to help to achieve organizational goals.

 

SCOPE:  The Manufacturing Supervisor reports to the V.P. of Operations. The position is responsible for quality, productivity, training and all other activities of the personnel and work teams in the following departments:

 

Machining (CNC, Drill Press, Deburring, Manually Operated Lathes and Mills)

Valve Assembly

Isonic Valve Assembly

Shipping

 

Supervisory responsibilities:

 

-Facilitate and foster the development of work groups and individuals in a participatory environment.

-Ensure daily production schedules are completed as planned.

-Establishing and achieving departmental goals.

-Manage production costs, with the goal of the most efficient use possible of available resources.

-Participation in weekly production meetings and other project meetings as directed.

-Support safety and continuous improvement objectives.

-Provide hands on training and guidance to manufacturing staff

-Assure completion of performance appraisals in a consistent and timely manner.

-Develop skills and learn/work in areas where proficiency is needed.

 

 

Minimum requirements:

 

-Minimum of one year of college, or equivalent work experience

-Three (3) years related manufacturing experience.

-Two (2) years experience as a manufacturing supervisor, responsible for day-to-day operations managing people and manufacturing processes

-Good written and verbal communication skills.

-Demonstrated ability and understanding in the areas of training and development, continuous improvement and problem solving.

-Experience with ERP programs and basic Microsoft Office tools.

 

Preferences:

 

College degree.

Experience with Oracle/SAP.
