With approximately $338 billion in assets, BlackRock's US Retail business is tasked with distribution and product development through the advisor-intermediated retail channel. BlackRock's Channel Marketing Strategy group partners with the US Retail business to bring BlackRock's brand to life through best-in-class value add, product marketing and thought leadership, and to drive key business goals by working closely with sales, national accounts teams and management. We are looking for an experienced Marketing Associate to support the efforts of our growing retail business.
Based in our Princeton, NJ offices, the Marketing Associate will work closely with both internal teams and external partners to develop and implement industry-leading sales and marketing campaigns. The successful candidate will lead marketing initiatives from conceptualization to completion, applying proven strategic thinking skills, understanding of marketplace needs and excellent marketing communication skills.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Plan, develop and execute on key marketing initiatives for the Wirehouse, Independent and RIA distribution channels, including ongoing sales communication and training for the US Private Client Strategic Relationship Group and Sales teams.
- Develop and implement product and marketing campaigns, training and collateral focused on the needs of major distribution partners and aligned with tactical and strategic initiatives at their home offices.
- Assist in managing the creation and execution of BlackRock-sponsored events as well as BlackRock's involvement in key partner firm events, from initial promotion to presentation content to follow-up marketing programs for attendees.
- Liaise with BlackRock's Digital Marketing team to manage ongoing website and email content and with the internal creative team to implement a consistent visual identity across marketing materials.
- Conduct analysis and synthesize key information about BlackRock's distribution partners and competitors to assist the US Private Client management team in understanding ongoing and evolving industry trends, business opportunities and risks.
- Collaborate with other departments, including Corporate Marketing, Mutual Funds Marketing, Value-add Marketing and other Channel Marketing teams, to coordinate the dissemination of BlackRock's brand message, related market insight, value-add, education and product content within the US Private Client channel.
Qualifications
- BA/BS required
- 3+ years of financial services marketing experience
- 3+ years of experience in the investment/asset management industry
- Proven experience influencing and interfacing with internal and external groups at all levels and across multiple functions
- Hands-on player with strong sales orientation; accepts ownership for planning and implementing the tactics necessary to successfully execute strategic objectives
- Demonstrated ability to create and manage effective marketing programs
- Understanding of asset management industry and competitive landscape
- Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong analytical mindset and ability to demonstrate strategic thinking while synthesizing information and data from many sources
- Extensive experience with MS Office Applications
- Experience with Adobe Dreamweaver and HTML a plus
