POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Marketing Communications Manager fills a key role on the InvestorForce team and will be responsible for directing and executing InvestorForce’s marketing communications effort, including: direct marketing, collateral and website development, social media presence, trade shows, and public relations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain an understanding of InvestorForce’s products, features, benefits, and application within the institutional consultant and asset manager environments and leverage this understanding to inform the development of effective marketing programs
- Establish an understanding of our clients’ strategic objectives such that key benefits of InvestorForce’s products and services are identified and highlighted
- Create, monitor, and report on annual marketing plans, including monthly/quarterly budget planning and forecasting
- Develop and maintain marketing collateral, including product brochures, press releases, sales material, and email marketing literature
- Create, implement, and manage marketing projects, programs, and campaigns, including the analysis and measurement of business results, such that you develop key insights, analyze trends, and adapt quickly to meet the project’s objectives
- Collaborate with an internal team to redesign InvestorForce’s public-facing website, and initiate and maintain InvestorForce’s social media presence
- Develop and nurture all activities related to media and press relations, potentially including a relationship with a PR agency
- Work alongside product managers, external and internal sales teams, and executive management to drive business goals
- Create standards and best practices across all marketing functions, such that marketing becomes ingrained in the organization’s culture
DESIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of five years’ marketing or marketing communications experience with a technology or financial services company
- Proven experience: Creating and executing annual marketing plans; developing, executing, and analyzing marketing programs and campaigns; and delivering ROI
- Proven Analytical/Problem-Solving skills, specifically: Effectively selecting, organizing, and analyzing pertinent information to formulate decisions or recommended solutions; being intellectually sharp and agile; using rigorous logic to solve difficult problems; remaining intellectually honest
- Proven Planning and Organization skills, specifically: Developing comprehensive, realistic project plans for complex projects; marshaling the resources necessary to complete tasks and projects; orchestrating multiple activities at once; dealing with ambiguity and coping effectively with change; simplifying complex processes
- Proven and outstanding Communication skills, specifically: Organized, concise, and clear speaking and writing styles; and awareness of how to leverage the communication method and tone appropriate to the context
- Proven Creativity/Innovation, specifically: Coming up with a lot of new and unique ideas; encouraging and leveraging different perspectives in the pursuit of new solutions; facilitating effective brainstorming; focusing on solutions rather than obstacles
- Proven Quality of Work, specifically: Delivering output that is top of the line – detailed, accurate, and thorough; working continually to improve processes, find the root cause of problems, and create best practices
- Proven Teamwork skills, specifically: Working with others to facilitate the achievement of functional group and company goals; managing conflict within teams by finding common ground and getting cooperation; acting for the benefit of the group regardless of self-interest; listening to input from team members in search of the “best idea.”
- Ability to work equally well at strategic and tactical levels
- Bachelor’s degree; MBA preferred
- Direct marketing experience a plus
- Experience with investment performance reporting systems preferred
