Marketing Compliance Associate
We are sourcing for a dynamic and enthusiastic marketing review compliance professional who functions in an efficient and detail-oriented manner. The candidate should be a team player, extremely motivated, resourceful and well organized. This position will be part of a team providing support and expertise for the review of BlackRock's marketing material. This position can be based in San Francisco or New York City and will report to the Head of Americas Marketing Compliance.
Primary Areas of Responsibility:
- Key compliance resource for the review of marketing materials covering a wide variety of investment products and strategies, including mutual funds, closed-end funds, ETFs, hedge funds, bank collective funds, separately managed accounts, securities lending, and transition management;
- Work in a close partnership with the business lines regarding their sales and marketing strategies;
- Partner with the business and other compliance personnel on new products, with a marketing focus;
- Work closely with global BlackRock compliance personnel on cross-border communications/marketing issues;
- Build a relationship with FINRA Advertising Regulation to provide education on BlackRock's products;
- Work with the public relations group on press releases, television interviews and other public appearances, and client conferences and events;
- Assist in development and implementation of meaningful compliance training concerning communications with the public;
- Develop and update compliance policies and procedures related to communications with the public to address new regulations and products;
- Special projects, as necessary.
Skills and Requirements:
- BS/BA degree;
- Minimum of 3 years of compliance experience with 2 years of advertising and marketing compliance preferred;
- Strong knowledge of FINRA/SEC regulations preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify a problem and develop solutions;
- Excellent organizational skills;
- Ability to design and document effective processes and work collaboratively with client groups to implement new procedures;
- High degree of initiative and ability to work within tight deadlines.
- Goal oriented and able to work in a rapidly changing environment;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Customer service attitude and collegial approach to client business groups; and
- Series 7 and 24 required, Series 4, 9/10 or 51/53 a plus.
