Job Description

The GSMA seeks a talented and energetic Marketing Director to lead, drive and deliver the marketing strategy and communications requirements for the Development Fund. A key element of the role is influencing internal and external decision makers through compelling messages across multiple channels. One key channel is social media and the role requires collaboratively working with various internal / external stakeholders to create and deliver engaging and successful social media campaigns.

You will need to be flexible with experience of working in global matrix teams across different time zones and whilst the majority of the work can be carried out at the GSMA's offices in London, you will need to have the flexibility to travel as required.

Key duties and responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

 

The successful candidate will have:

 

·         Substantial marketing experience at a senior level in the private sector particularly the mobile telecommunications industry

·         Experience in international and preferably emerging markets including experience in the application of technology and communications in the reduction of poverty

·         Worked across a number of NGO/development initiatives within the mobile telecommunications sector, for example Mobile Money, mHealth

·         International experience, particularly within US, Africa and Europe

·         A proven track record of proposition development and the ability to influence and add value to all areas of the business

·         An entrepreneurial and highly analytical approach. You will have, probably, identified an opportunity and converted it into a substantial growth product or service.

·         Experience leading teams in a global, geographically dispersed organisation

·         Advanced degree level education is preferred
