INVISTA’S Performance Surfaces Materials business is seeking an experienced candidate for the position of Marketing Manager for the North America region for its global DACRON® Fiberfill Business. This position will be based at our Kennesaw, Georgia office.
INVISTA Performance Surfaces Materials provides innovative solutions for INVISTA’s global surface-focused segments including residential, commercial, area rugs, bedding, sheets, pillows and comforters; automotive-focused segments such as airbags and automotive flooring; and its industrial nylon offerings including luggage, outdoor gear, industrial work wear and military products. Consumer brands brought to market include STAINMASTER® carpet, ANTRON® carpet fiber, CORDURA® fabric and DACRON® fiberfill.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, recommend and execute marketing communications strategies aimed at increasing sales of DACRON® branded fiberfill products in the North America retail and hospitality markets.
- Develop, maintain and update marketing communications materials such as brand guidelines, product sell sheets, brochures and an effective online presence for the DACRON® brand. Develop, recommend and manage advertising and promotion budgets.
- Manage external marketing communications services and relationships such as trade advertising, PR agencies, and graphic design and printing or production service firms and also work with and leverage in-house creative resources.
- Develop and conduct both live and online consumer research as appropriate and as needed.
- Work collaboratively with the broader business team to drive the development of product branding strategies and marketing campaigns for new product offerings. Develop brand names and work with internal resources to coordinate vetting and research of availability of candidate brand names as well as trademark registrations.
- Work with the sales marketing team to develop key marketing messages for industry events and develop supporting event-specific marketing materials such as art work and displays and own the design and set-up of industry event exhibits such as booths or showrooms as appropriate and necessary.
- Own and ensure business marketing activities compliance, evaluate and manage risks of business marketing activities in North America and develop and vet marketing claims.
- Work closely with the sales marketing team to identify, pursue and cultivate new business development opportunities. This may require direct ownership of direct customer or retail accounts as appropriate.
- Coordinate the development of Trademark License Agreements and manage the portfolio of agreements.
- Monitor and evaluate effectiveness of initiatives, develop and maintain an individual performance scorecard and track contributions to business results and profitability.
- Ensure all marketing activities are conducted in full compliance with laws and regulations and company policies.
- Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and project management skills.
Required Skills Experience:
- At least 5 years of marketing experience with branded ingredient or consumer products for the North America retail industry; including a strong understanding of the North America retail industry and value chain.
- Experience developing, managing and implementing marketing strategies as well as developing and successfully introducing new branded product offerings.
- Technical marketing skills including development of marketing plans, strategy development, target audience and consumer research and development, brand positioning, messaging and related ideas.
- Experience developing sustainable relationships and conducting profitable negotiations using strong business acumen and critical and economic thinking skills.
- Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.
Preferred Skills Experience:
- Knowledge of the home textiles and bedding markets for retail or hospitality industries a plus.
- Experience with development and negotiation of royalty-bearing brand licensing agreements a plus.
- Experience with Salesforce.com.
- Experience with SharePoint and graphics asset management tools.
Education Required:
- Bachelor’s degree required in Marketing or business related field.
Education Preferred:
- MBA
